HANDS UP!

Please welcome Kay Vaughn, live from Philly. as our new CFO. Kay has been working in finance, the music business and managing Jazz artist, Greg Osby’s (http://www.gregosby.com) career for over 10 years. But before there was Kay Vaughn Management and Mega Mace, Kay and Mason worked in a coffee shop together back in Philly – one fateful night the two were held up at gun point. Lying face down on the filthy coffee-ground mats the two formed a bond that night that would last a lifetime – now they both only drink tea.

HIDE YOUR FOOD!

Rob Arbogast, stylish dresser, actor and good friend has left the building! Mr. Arbogast is moving into the refinancing business – so if you need a loan you know whom to call - just say Mega Mace sent you so we get our cut! We wish him all the best – and as long as there’s some food in our fridge we know we won’t lose him as a friend.

CORPORATE

.

SUPER-SHOOTER

New York and Dallas photographer James Russell, of Russell- Rutherford demands the best, from himself and those he works with - so when his client Interleukin Genetics hired him to direct a video describing their latest medical marvel he turned to Mega Mace for post once again.

James and his client flew in to approve and finesse the final DVD, which included a complete second language track in French with French graphics, sub-titling and voice over. The DVD also contained PDF forms and a web link for more information. 20,000 copies were made, which Mega Mace sourced and had rush ordered for the client in one week.

JUST A MEMORY

The Alzheimer’s Association video project went great this fall – as did their annual Memory Walk – which raised nearly $400,000. Here’s a clip from the opening “Making Alzheimer’s Just a Memory”.

A NATION IN DENIAL

Nurse and first time producer Anita Carey, decided she needed to do something to help educate the black female population about the risks involving HIV and AIDS. With a tiny budget, a camcorder and a lot of heart Anita turned out a compelling and raw mini-documentary about the plight facing so many black women today. Her goal is to educate as many women as she can so that they might avoid a similar plight as many of the people she interviewed in her video.

TECH NEWS

SERVING IT UP

MEGA MACE is now a full functioning HD Online house! The last piece of the puzzle was Apple’s X-Serve and she’s a beauty. All 5.6 terabytes! Fast, sleek and able to handle several sizeable projects at once. Give Liz (e.mail link) a shout to see how we can start helping you with your HD projects today.

CAN YOU SAY VISTARAMA?

“This is the CCT” is one of those jobs that come along once in a lifetime. Director Randal Kleiser (Grease, Blue Lagoon) developed Vistarama and Producer John Levoff thought Mason might be the man for the job when he approached him about editing and post-supervising the project. Shot on the Viper FilmStream (http://www.thomsongrassvalley.com/products/cameras/viper/) and the Dalsa Digital Cinema (http://www.dalsa.com/dc/index.asp) in raw 4K information, Mace knows he’s got his work cut out for him. But the real challenge is in getting the final edit conformed and up on a custom 180 degree screen. Green screen, warping images, conforming raw data, and calculating HD, SD and 4K information to make it all come together are just a few of the challenges ahead for Mace and his team. Now you know why we put this in the “tech news” section though.

ON-AIR

HALL OF FAMER!

Mitch Gaylord was just inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame in Chicago (Dec. 8th, 2005). On top of that the Gold Medal Fitness (www.mitchgaylord.com) workout series is complete and the infomercial is on the airwaves testing and tweaking as we speak. We’re super proud of Mitch’s success and of helping create Gold Medal Fitness with him.

Deck the Halls

Mason directed, wrote and produced this “group sales” holiday spot for Gameworks, now running in several markets nationally.

Arena Sports Bar & Grill

A super-sports bar within Gameworks, Mason again was hired as creative-honcho and traveled with Liz to Miami and Ohio for super rival games with Texas vs. Ohio state and Miami vs. Florida State to get some highlight footage to role into the spots. Back in LA head editor Leo Marini was busy editing multiple versions together for each market
