Mason Bendewald is a nationally acclaimed director and producer, widely considered to be a leader in the innovation and development of fitness videos. By developing both on-air fitness talent and choreography, Mason has achieved international success in the field, and continues to create the most instructionally sound viewer experience available in the fitness market.
Mason is now applying his expertise in production and marketing to the future of fitness as the Director and VP of Production at DailyBurn. DailyBurn delivers it’s content exclusively online and puts power directly into the users hands by programming a schedule specifically for the individual based on their goals.
By personally participating in each and every fitness regimen before shooting, Mason is best able to understand each program and provide strategic and tactical consultation. He assists in designing the workouts, perfecting moves and helping the trainers focus on presentation, which allows them to shine on camera and help customers reach personal fitness goals. Mason has a natural talent for scouting new trainers and through a series of his trademark “On Camera Workshops,” Mason grooms them on a multitude of levels including, how to work to the camera, how to be informative and entertaining and perhaps the most important, how to own their workout.
Born and raised in Manhattan, Mason graduated Valedictorian from The Art Institute of Philadelphia and opened his own production company Mega Mace in 1995. In 2002, Mason moved to Los Angeles where he began directing fitness videos. He has produced, directed and developed hundreds of workouts with some of the top names in the industry including P90X, which has sold a record four million copies to date. Other popular titles he’s directed include RevAbs, Slim in 6, Ten Minute Trainer, Tai Cheng and the highly anticipated P90X2.
When not scouting or filming, Mason keeps himself busy practicing yoga, and volunteering and in 2010 he released TUNAHKAI, an award winning documentary about 9 orphans and there journey from Africa to America and back.
